While I was in Pittsburgh, I hung out with my friend Darren and his boyfriend Lee. Luckily for me, Lee is a photographer and aside from teaching me some more tricks for my camera, he also offered to take some pictures of me for an outfit post. :) Although it was kind of gray that day, I was so happy to actually be able to shoot outside for once. This winter has had me shooting outfit posts in my room for the most part and I've grown quite tired of having my teal wall/messy room as a backdrop. I can't wait for spring when it will be nice enough to shoot all of my outfits outside.
We did the shoot at one of the highest points in the city and the view was breathtaking.
As much as I may say I love rural areas, I'm a sucker for cities. I know some people consider cities to be cold and much like a concrete jungle, but I can honestly say that I knew most of my neighbors and we did have our fair share of green. The term "it takes a village" most definitely applies to where I was raised. My mother didn't have to wonder where I was at any point because there was no hiding or sneaking around in my town. Everyone knew everyone. Most of us didn't have backyards, but we have parks where I made friends and memories. Most of us didn't have pools or hot tubs, but we had waterfront views ideal for first dates and first kisses. Sitting on a bench facing NYC and the Hudson River always relaxed me after a long day at school, after sad breakups with friends/boyfriends, while reading a book. That waterfront has seen happy moments, tearful heartbreaks, and long talks with friends. My city made me street smart, good with directions, and good at parallel parking (considering few people had driveways). I wouldn't trade my city upbringing for anything in the world, well ... maybe for a lake house. Maybe I'll get that eventually though. :)

Love the outfit! Very much my style...And no joke, I am going to go to my local Rue21 and hope I find those earrings! They are adorable!
I loved this post. I grew up (and still live) in a very rural (and boring) area and wished I grew up in a big city! I dream that I could live in NYC! I feel like I was born to be a city girl! It sounds like you loved growing up in the City!
I *adore* this outfit. The sweater is way too cute and I love your necklace.
