As most of you may know, Hurricane Sandy hit the Northeast pretty bad and definitely destroyed what used to be the Jersey Shore. :( If you find it in your hearts to donate to the Red Cross, text SANDY to 90999 to help with the relief efforts. Luckily, my family and I were okay during the storm and while my mom's house still has no power (going on Day 7 now ...), my roommate and I were very fortunate and never lost power but I know there were others who were terribly affected by the storm and no longer have cars or homes so please donate! A good deed goes a long way. :) 

On an unrelated note, these pictures were some from my recent trip to California. My boyfriend and I went to Sonoma Valley and had way too much wine. It was definitely nice to escape NJ for a weekend and much needed since I hadn't seen him in way too long. And well now, back to studying. It never ends. :(

Labor Day Weekend

 For this labor day weekend, I did what every person in their right mind does: find a beach/water/place to soak up the last bit of sun left before fall hits us. I went with a couple of my law school friends to visit one of our friends who lives by the shore and had a fantastic time. It's too bad we had classes so we couldn't enjoy the entire weekend down there but I'm glad I was able to do something on the last unofficial weekend of summer. I also took advantage of the weekend and wore white shorts while I still could. Summer seems to be the only appropriate time to wear them and I definitely didn't wear them as often as I should have. Better late than never though right? :)

New City, New Year, New Age, New Hair, New Everything!

Brett and I went to Newport, RI last week and we just got back yesterday. We went kayaking, toured the big mansions, walked around, and ate tons of food. All in all, it was just what I needed before going back to school. It was relaxing to sleep in and have lazy days by the water. On a less relaxing note, I start school on Monday! It's definitely bittersweet because while I'm looking forward to my classes and being busy again, summer is just so hard to let go of! I'm not ready for a new season to start but I've had tons of change in the last couple of months. I recently turned 23 and got a new apartment with my best friend and decided to dye my hair red (if you couldn't tell from above :)) so this year is full of new things already and I can't wait to see what this new school year will bring!
